304 and 201 are the most common stainless steel materials, and they are different in composition, performance, and use environment.
1. Different ingredients
-304 stainless steel: contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. This gives 304 stainless steel excellent corrosion resistance and toughness.
-201 stainless steel: contains about 17% chromium and about 4.5 nickel, manganese content is higher. Compared with 304, the corrosion resistance of 201 stainless steel is weakened.
2. Corrosion resistance
-304 stainless steel: Due to its high nickel content, 304 has excellent corrosion resistance and is stable in humid environments, acidic foods and chemicals.
-201 stainless steel: poor corrosion resistance, not suitable for long-term exposure to acid and alkali environment.
3. Hardness and toughness
-304 stainless steel: good toughness, suitable for making all kinds of kitchen utensils, tableware and medical equipment.
-201 stainless steel: high hardness, but toughness is not as good as 304, more used for decorative materials, some daily necessities.
4. Price
-304 stainless steel: due to high nickel content and complex process, the price is more expensive.
-201 stainless steel: low cost, the price is more people-friendly.
