The identification of stainless steel can be carried out by the following simple methods:
1. Magnetic test
-201 stainless steel has a certain magnetic properties.
-304 stainless steel has almost no magnetism and can be easily detected with a magnet.
2. Chemical testing
-There are special test agents on the market, which can be identified by the color change after dropping the agent according to the chemical composition difference between 201 and 304.
3. Spark test
-Use an angle grinder to polish the stainless steel and observe the shape and color of the sparks. If there are more sparks and yellow fireworks, it is mostly 201 stainless steel; sparks are less and dark red, it is mostly 304 stainless steel.
